Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Answers to common questions about domiciliary care, starting support, and how we tailor services at Xtra Care Providers Ltd.

What services do you provide?
We provide domiciliary (home) care including personal care, support for adults over 65 and under 65, dementia care, mental health support, and support for physical disabilities and sensory impairments. Care is tailored to needs, routines, and goals.
How do we get started with care?
Start by calling or emailing us. We’ll discuss your needs, arrange an assessment, and agree a personalised care plan. Care can then begin with regular reviews to adapt support as needs change.
How quickly can care start?
Start times depend on assessment and scheduling, but we aim to respond quickly. If support is urgent (for example, hospital discharge), please tell us when you contact us so we can prioritise your enquiry.
Do you create personalised care plans?
Yes. We agree a care plan based on needs, routines, preferences, and safety. The plan is reviewed regularly and updated if needs or circumstances change.
What does personal care include?
Personal care may include support with washing, dressing, grooming, continence care, mobility support, and day-to-day routines. We always work respectfully, protect privacy, and promote independence wherever possible.
Do you provide dementia care?
Yes. Dementia care focuses on calm routines, reassurance, safety awareness, and meaningful engagement. Support is tailored to the individual and may include prompting, personal care, nutrition and hydration support, and routine-building to reduce anxiety.
Can you support mental health conditions?
Yes. We support mental health needs by helping clients maintain routine, structure, and wellbeing. This can include prompting, practical support with daily living, encouragement with self-care, and supportive companionship, aligned to an agreed care plan.
Do you support physical disabilities and sensory impairments?
Yes. We tailor support to mobility and communication needs, focusing on safety, independence, and accessible routines. Support can include mobility assistance, daily living help, and communication support adapted to visual or hearing needs.
How do you ensure safe recruitment and safeguarding?
We follow safe recruitment procedures and maintain robust safeguarding systems. We prioritise staff development, clear governance, and continuous quality monitoring to support safe, consistent care.
